M, Bo, K, & B all tucked in and ready for winter

for Nov 5 - Dec 14, 2008

  • M & B are sad the softball league is over, so we try out an new endeavor - indoor soccer (Go B Team!). M becomes MVP quickly while B learns how to kick with her left foot.
  • B decides to take on another year as the assistant girls high school swim team coach. (Sleep is overrated)
  • Thanksgiving at the Crests! Fam Kendall makes their first debut at our potluck festivities. The day began with a brisk jog outside with the dogs - Walmart parking lot to hotel buffet to join the fam.
  • A quick visit from dad Stevens as he times his trip perfectly to become B Team’s number one fan.
  • B gets a special treat and gets to spend a fun girls weekend up near Brainard competing in a marathon cookie-baking contest. (Two awards won - Most Cookies Baked and Ugly Stepsister)
  • Pow Pow! M&B head up to catch the first ‘real’ snow at Vail.
  • We hope this time finds you all in good spirits and are looking forward to spending some quality MN time with family.

for August 11 - Nov 4, 2008

  • Yeah, it’s been a while. We’ve been busy and whatnot.
  • B is dominating her quest for a Master’s degree. Taking on classes left and right and learning smart things like ribosomes.
  • Just like all of you, M&B celebrated Talk Like a Pirate Day with a house to house traveling party of maties.
  • M&B start and finish a coed slowpitch softball league with team Uni. No grand slams for us, but B did strike out a few batters.
  • M&B head home to MN for the baby shower of sister Megan and brother-in-law Joe. (Neice Emma arrived a few short weeks later :)
  • Artletic expands its empire and moves into office space. M is sharing a small space with another designer and man-friend, Chris.
  • M&B take a nice vacation to Breckenridge and get in the first day of skiing of the year.
  • Briefs HQ was transformed into a haunted house for a Halloween party with friends.

for July 11 - August 10, 2008

  • Our lives will never be the same. Yes, the iPhone has arrived, and it’s IN THE HOUSE!
  • M turns 27 amidst the iPhone awesomeness. B takes him to see the CO Rapids (pro soccer, for those of you out of the loop).
  • B’s team finishes the summer with 3rd at leagues & takes 9 swimmers to state - the steroids program is working!
  • M&B sit on the porch swing and reminisce the “good ol days” as
  • we look back over almost half a decade of marriage.
  • It’s HOT! We don’t remember moving to Arizona, but apparently we did, as Denver breaks the record streak of continuos days over 90°.
  • M, B, Rob & the dogs head up to the mountains for some camping and cool air. M brings the fly rod in hopes…and yes! It’s a catch.
  • B re-awakens her competitive muscles as she competes in the Susan G Komen Triathlon. Shocking everyone, including herself, she finished 19th in her age group, and 139th out of 2,800 overall!
  • Sister visit! Mik graces us with her precence for a week so she can go home and secretly convince everyone to move to CO.

for June 16 - July 10, 2008

  • B makes a small change in her Masters to focus on science instead of math – it never hurts to be double qualified in teaching
  • B gets to endure the dreaded swimming invitational over insanely hot temperatures and long nights (10:00!)
  • Crest Family Vacation! Sponsored by Arrowwood resorts (alright, we asked, but they wouldn’t) on the beautiful lake Darling. Amazing shirts were created for the fam by yours truly. Pontooning, grilling, chair saving, and fire pit taking overing were just some of the fun activities…
  • M,B,Rob,K&Bo all head up a mountain side for an overnight sleep under the stars.
  • Biking is getting easier (weird) as we continue to fight the heat each morning.
  • The desert/jungle that is our backyard begins its transformation when landscapers take out half the flower garden craziness. Next up, make it a useful patio area.

for May 28 - June 15, 2008

  • Summer begins for the Crest fam with a visit from the other Crest fam - Mom & Dad. Teamwork helped put our wooden swing back into use, great picnicking skills helped with a lunch in Breckenridge and good taste helped M&B find a new delectable, local pizza joint.
  • M&B make a pact to bike to work everyday (hilarious since M works from home). But no fear, he accompanies B to her coaching and then continues on from there.
  • B is ecstatic to find out that her first Master’s course is a slacker’s class! Time is spent ‘discussing’ and trying out fun activities to use in the classroom - not to mention the Wed ‘field days’ where the day is spent hiking!
  • Artletic has become a household name as M finds himself again with lots of clients and work - don’t be shy to check it out yourself…
  • Camping Gone Wild! Spend 4.5 hours trying to find a site, get a flat (which M changed in impressive man-like time), and forget our ‘overnight bag’ with warm clothes and toiletries. Happy Father’s Day!

for May 7 - May 27, 2008

  • M celebrates his first weekend off by taking his fam to Moab, UT. We endure our first night with both dogs camping on the way out, and in sub-freezing weather. The 90 plus weather in Moab had us kissing our AC in the rustic, quaint, 8 room gem of a motel where we stayed.
  • M&B are humbled by the famous ‘slickrock’ mountain bike trail (see pic) that took 3.5 hours! Afternoons were spent hiking near rivers to cool the pups.
  • B’s going back to school! (yes, we realize she is a teacher, so technically she’s always at school) But this time for her Masters - in Curriculum and Pedagogy.
  • Fam Visit! Dad & Annie Stevens and Sis Kelly and hubby Ethan spend a wild Memorial Day weekend while fly fishing, shopping, Rockies gaming and Robyn’s golden 20th.
  • B starts her summer swim team - deciding to get herself out of the house to help Artletic’s creative focus.
